POLL: Where will the yankees payroll be next season?

in all realness here, probably not much more then it is now. Obviously they'll sign some more free agents, but the market is supposed to be tight again this year so you wont see any deals even remotely approaching A-Rod type cash. The only way their payroll will go even higher is if they sign more then a few big name players

Fvck Steinbrenner and the horse he rode in on. Like someone else in the WS thread said, he can buy all the talent he can, but he can't buy chemistry. I'm looking forward to this offseason, the Yankee drama has only just begun with tonights World Series loss.

Hmmm - Twice as many World Series wins as losses.

I guess you just put them in their place!

Hey, if Yankee fan's enjoy touting their victories they should have no problem being reminded of all the years they got their ass beat. I see no problem here.

Actually alot of them come from their farms system. At least the ones that matter anyway. Jeter, Soriano (although he didn't help them much this post season), Rivera, iirc Posada and Williams did too. They buy back up peices or players to fill a hole here and they're but their farm system is actually pretty strong.

7 of those players are from the farm system, although Soriano was bought for $3 million in a bidding process.

I'm not sure if I would consider this is an elite number of homegrown players or anything.
