*POLL* Where should I move?

Well I talked with my boss and due to the nature of my job I don't really have a 'homebase' and I am traveling nearly every week, so it has been agreed upon that they'll continue paying my airfare regardless of the city. I'm more inclined to something on the East coast since that is where I will primarily be working and don't want to have to deal with jetlag on a weekly basis. I was curious to any cities you guys would recommend. Currently I'm leaning toward Miami or Boston.

Yes, add the two phrases "8thstreet" and "Latinas" togather and see the magic!

I voted for Miami but I guess its because I live a few miles from it. I've never been to Boston however so I really can't say on that. All I know is that its winter all accross the country its way to cold where as its a cool 75 F here in southn FL.

They aren't that bad. I was born in Miami and now I live in Orlando. The breeze from the Atlantic really helps but the humidity is pretty bad down here if you aren't used to it.

I'd personally go somewhere warmer, but that's just me. So I'd lean toward Miami or Atlanta. Atlanta's probably a bit more centrally located in terms of flight times, but I'd imagine the weather in Miami would make it perfect. Hot in the summer, but probably not much hotter than Atlanta. Coastal cities like that tend to have more steady temps.

from what I've heard, Miami is a sh!thole but is warm all the time and Boston is ass expensive and is cold. I guess it all depends on how much you bank. if it is a lot, then I'm guessing you could move into a nice part of Miami - that is what I would do.

alright, any particulars areas within miami? i'm doing searches on places to live and it's returning a million different areas around Miami...Coral Gables, West Miami, South Miami, Miami Beach....

Its all relative really, depends on the person, I've lived in south FL most of my life and am pretty much used to it, it gets pretty damn hot but I've seen it hotter when I lived near ATL, GA or when I was in AZ one summer. Its not the heat that is so bad more the humidity that just kind of makes you feel hot and sticky the second you step foot outside of the AC. But there?s the trade off also, all the chicks almost year round at the beach and all nice and tan.

Hope that helps.

I really like the Aventura area, its north of Miami but not much, its more of a suburb of Miami, much nicer IMO though and newer with plenty to do. Coral Gables is pretty nice also but would probably be pretty expensive to live in.

Edit: heres a link to some info on Aventura.

I agree on the warm areas. When I was a kid I loved the cold but honestly ... doesn't it suck? Not being able to go out in January because it's 0 out in Illinois is terrible.

Miami would be good, but I would've said California.

If you're single, have great job security and want to enjoy all 4 seasons.. definately NYC.. no noubt!

If you're close to getting married, go with Miami. ( I say that because when i settle down, i want it to be somewhere that's always warm.. because it's better on the body). And in Miami you can buy rear wheel drive exotics without worrying about all the hassles of inclement weather )

Overall.. me picky Miami 😀

Sidenote.. I picked Providence because it's real estate market is ripe and ready to explode.. Providence has about 1/20th of the appeal of NYC, but it's nice if you like cozy little wannabe-cities..lol

Boston-82/22 Snow
New York City-85/26 Snow
Atlanta-89/33 Little Snow
