I've been doing the majority of my workouts after work, before dinner say around 7pm.

Is this good?

I'm not sure. I like to work out in the morning. Gets me ready to face the day ahead. My GF works out EVERY night around 8-9:00 but that's usually because she's in class or at work during the day. I've heard that it's better to work out in the evening, though I can't remember why.

I suppose it depends on what your trying to do if ya wanna lose weight I believe your best off doing it on the morning. If I had the motivation I'd rather do it in the morning and use it as a pick me up. rather than taking a chunk out of my afternoon

I assume every night she does some kind of running or whatever? Is that safe?

It depends on what you are doing. Cardio should be done before breakfast to maximize fat loss.

Weights can be done whenever

Back when I was regularly exercising (4 years ago at the ripe ol' age of 32), I would get up about 5:30 and eat something like a Nutri Grain bar and read the paper for a few minutes.

Then I'd do some stretches for about 5 min. and then hit the treadmill for about 30 minutes and every other day would add some light weightlifting or other light aerobics and wind up with about 5 min. of stretching/cool down.

I found I had a lot more energy throughout the day and wouldn't be tired when I got home from work either.

It's safe. She does the stationary bike thing inside her own home and an insane ammount of crunches and other different floor exercises. I guess if she pulled a muscle or something that would suck since she lives alone, but it's not like anyone is going to abduct her.

Actually your metabolism peaks at about 2-3 PM (depending on when you eat) so if you want the best workout, that is when you should do it.

It doesn?t really matter when you work out unless you have a specific goal in mind. If you want to maximize fat loss, then you should work out right after you wake up on an empty/mostly empty stomach. This way you only have fat as a source of energy. Well, not really, but just go with me on this one.

My workout is dependant on my work schedule. Some days I open, and some days I close. If I close, I work out in the morning, and vice versa. I do find it difficult at times to motivate myself to the gym after working all day, but that is just a motivation issue. I went to the gym every day at 6:45 pm last summer, and nothing bad happened. I felt like I slept better since I worked myself so hard.

Crap. Last night I worked out at 7pm.

I woke up at 7 am and tried to do my normal workout again (will not have time in afternoon).

Yeah, that didn't work out too well. I'm not sure if I just can't work out in the morning that well, or if I was tired from working out the night before

I usually work out at 6am. If I miss my alarm, it ends up being about 7-8pm.
