Hint.................I was in S.A. in '91 and have freinds at WAFB now!;)

I was too. Edit, unit removed.

The Israeli's said it was starting yesterday after intercepting an "official order".

Don't believe some loudmouth. So, when's the time?
Um, stated clearly above!;) I'm not believing any "loudmouth", but, when there is several times as much air traffic out of Whiteman as normal, coupled with other reports of Iraqi troops being allowed to surrender now.........................I feel pretty safe!;)

First now hitting web sites................and confirmed even by FRANCE......................

  • 15 Iraqis surrender to U.S. troops in Kuwait

IN THE KUWAITI DESERT (March 19, 8:02 a.m. AST) - Fifteen Iraqi soldiers Wednesday crossed the border into Kuwait and surrendered to U.S. troops, a U.S. officer here said.
The 15 were handed over to Kuwaiti police after putting down their arms and giving up, said Captain Darrin Theriault, headquarters company commander of the First Brigade of the U.S. Army's Third Infantry Division.

The surrenders came amid a 48-hour ultimatum given by President Bush to Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein to leave his country by early Thursday or face a massive attack.

"We anticipate more (surrenders) as this continues to develop," Theriault told AFP. He stressed that the Kuwaiti police had custody of the Iraqi soldiers and "no enemy prisoners of war are under U.S. control."

The United States and Britain have some 280,000 troops in the region readying an invasion of Iraq after Saddam rejected Bush's warning to quit the country. About 174,000 are in Kuwait.

We WILL begin tonight or sooner if Iraq takes action sooner...........................US/Brittish forces are reportedly (TV reports including CNN/FOX/BBC) already taking some Iraqi Troops surrendering and turning them over to Kuwaiti military in the DMZ which the US/Brittish forces occupied early today.

"If Iraq takes action" Yes, of course. Goes without saying. If not, I doubt it will happen tonight.
LOL! Wish I could wager on that with you!;)

We can't wager, but I'll be online tonight. What time are you predicting? Please be specific and quote it in EST. I'll even give you a couple hours buffer time before I say I told you so.

OK................sounds like fun................I will go on record as saying action will begin within a short time (1 hour) of the 8PM deadline (7PM my time CST).

Also, just a FYI.................US/Brittish forces are already moving and at the edge of the DMZ and somewhere close to me has seen a LOT of action already this AM..............(Whiteman AFB;)).

EDIT: Or before as stated above!;)

Okay, missed that post. One of the other of us will be shaming the other NLT 9 pm CST. We're in the same time zone.

I have been watching the newslines closely and am well aware of what's being reported. I've got LOTS (dozens of close friends and hundreds of acquaintances) over there right now and will continue to monitor progress until it's over.

As do I freind......................I suppose I am just confident because we're seeing the same thing we saw in the hours before the begining of action in Afghanistan...............

Dust storms are bad right now and are predicted to continue. Not sure well start a ground assault with that going on. Of course, a similar scenario was going on right before the Normandy invasion. Germans thought the weather was going to prevent an attack, and their guard was down. That coupled with a brief clearing of the weather helped our success.

the us will invail new weapon technolgy unlike any seen before in this conflict. Keep your eyes out for the latest greatest ways of killing large groups of people. They have secretly perfected the ability to seed and freeze large rain clouds, causing them to fall and crush mass square footage.

THE SKY IS FALLING......

I don't think I'd call it just yet. I'm waiting for the overwhelming attack of "shock and awe".

I'm not trying to be a stickler, I agree with you. I was thinking about the tactics this morning and thought that this was a very good way to try and locate Hussein and his gang of thugs. If or when the big attack comes, knocking out power and disabling communications, it will be much harder to find them. I can envision the current scenario going on for quite some time until the ground troops move, it really will be easier to try to locate and track them without the fog of all out war.

I do wish I could find the thread where I was trying to tell a couple of people that it would start just before sunrise.
