It started back in 96 with the publishing of the Doctrine of a New American Century.

or back in 1990 when Iraq invaded Kuwait.

That said, I think the action will heat up over the weekend or early next week.

April 1 - New Moon. Need I say more?

I was thinking the same thing but not sure they can have the troops sitting around that long at full alert. Our forces are so much more superior to theirs that the waning moon will probably be enough.

It's already started. A Marine division and the British 1st. Armored are already in Iraq. A second column of the US third infantry is also inside the demilitarized zone in Southern Iraq.

Also some pretty interesting people are fleeing Iraq.

Let's hope this goes off without civilian deaths in Iraq. Not that many of you would really care.

March 21st at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.

I'm guessing on the date, but our most likely time to attack is going to be just before sunrise, local time. Sunrise is at approximtely 6:08 a.m. in Baghdad. subtract 8 hours difference for E.S.T., and maybe an hour or so before sunrise, and there you have it!

On top of all this, it's great for the networks. War at Prime Time. I hope there's not any programs you want to watch during prime time during the next three days.

EDIT: Of course, the sandstorms will also play into this.

Sunrise? Are you mad? They aren't going to fight in daylight! Our forces have extreme nighttime advantages, the war just like last one will start around midnight iraq time.

the war starting at sunrise will not happen..

This war, as with the previous few conflicts will start in the night hours..
I'm not sure the time difference between the U.S. and Iraq... but we'll most likely be getting the television news coverage of live action throughout the morning and afternoon..

Let the "Steel Rain" begin!!!!!!!!

The time difference between EST and Baghdad time is 8 hours. I agree that we'll fight at night to take advantage of our night vision capabilities, but early morning hours are the best time for attack, especially before sunrise. Ask anyone who has ever been in the Army. Everyone always had to be in their fighting positions 30 minutes before sunrise because it's the optimal time for attack.

We WILL begin tonight or sooner if Iraq takes action sooner...........................US/Brittish forces are reportedly (TV reports including CNN/FOX/BBC) already taking some Iraqi Troops surrendering and turning them over to Kuwaiti military in the DMZ which the US/Brittish forces occupied early today.

"If Iraq takes action" Yes, of course. Goes without saying. If not, I doubt it will happen tonight.

We can't wager, but I'll be online tonight. What time are you predicting? Please be specific and quote it in EST. I'll even give you a couple hours buffer time before I say I told you so.

EDIT: Hint: Iraq time is 8 hours ahead of EST.

OK................sounds like fun................I will go on record as saying action will begin within a short time (1 hour) of the 8PM deadline (7PM my time CST).

Also, just a FYI.................US/Brittish forces are already moving and at the edge of the DMZ and somewhere close to me has seen a LOT of action already this AM..............(Whiteman AFB;)).

EDIT: Or before as stated above!;)

The Israeli's said it was starting yesterday after intercepting an "official order".
