Lets say your boss and you disagree about direction that needs to be taken regarding a certain project. How far would/should you go while defending your point of view?

Its a tough question... just dont personally insult the guy, but if hes one of the trigger happy types, you might want to keep your mouth shut.

I'd just play with the office politic until he reconsidered...like, "You do know that if we go this way, it's gonna make you look pretty bad in terms of...Deployment time, turnaround, efficiency...etc. This is, of course, assuming I care enough to argue the point.

About as far as it takes until he says "well we're gonna have to disagree on this one because I'm not convinced. Now get out of my office we both have work to do instead of hammering each other for an hour".

Well as of now I work for my dad so I can pretty much argue with him whenever I want...except on some days

I've been working for him for long enough and know him well enough that I can really push until he definitely puts his foot down and orders me to do it his way.
