8bit I love my old Nintendo, although Genesis was great too.

NES/Sega Master System era.

There were soooooo many GREAT games back then.

Although the Turbografx 16 was pretty good too.

Oh man, nothing beats the old school NES. Got Nesticle and hundreds of ROMs, and yes, of course I own all the original games. I keep the ROMs just for backup purposes, as well as educational purposes.

Oh, BTW, Killbat, you have WAY too much free time on your hands.

 

Console: The 16-bit ERA (Genesis, SNES)
PC: The genesis of the FPS (Wolf 3D, Doom 1)

Since I was a child in the 'ol Atari 2600 and Intellivision days, I have to vote for that out of sheer nostalgia.
EDIT: I remember when the Colecovision was the top of the line killer system!

My vote goes to 16bit, mainly because of games like Mario Kart and NHL '94.
