With the announement of the $500 NV16 and the $buggerknows NV20, and of course Zuni implementing polls on the forums, here it is:

Personally I'd only pay $250 MAX - nothing more (I'm not hardcore enough! ;))

BTW - to take part in the poll, click the little icon to the right of the private message one, and then fill in your vote. Plus any general comments would be good to keep the thread alive :)

I'd gladly pay over $400, but only if the rest of my computer was up to speed. Once I build my dual 966, then I'll consider replacing my $188 GF2 GTS with an NV20.

dl...

When you start a new thread, there's a "Create a poll for this thread" option. Check that box, & all will be revealed... Except for JLH.

$150 is the absolute max I'd pay -

Paid $100 for a banshee
$150 for my TNT2 ultra
and $130 for my G400 DH

No way I'd pay a dime over $150. It's just not worth it. I also like to hang onto my video cards for close to a year.

You guys dropping 300 and 400 bucks are nuts :)

I got the $$ to blow, but I'd much rather put that money into a nice car payment :)

Id pay 300 only if it is Superior in the Cost per performace Field ( I divide the price by the frames it gets = $/frame) if it is better than the next most expensive card at the time by 15% then I would pay that much to get it.

I have trouble rationalizing a $100 video card. But I understand that I'm an exception. Right now, I'm happy enough with my $38 TNT2, or the $60 V3 before it was good.

I paid £250 for my GeForce 256 DDR CLAP. So I guess I would pay that again. Appx $375.

If I wanted it that bad I'd pay it. ;)

150 is my max too, looking at that hercules mx card, no way I would spend anything more than that though, just too much of a waste in my eyes for not that much of a performace increase, heck I am still running my v3 2k and think that looks pretty good

$200 US Max. Knowing how the marketing departments love to bs people into buying the latest and greatest, I sit here lmao at people blowing $500 for a graphics card, and you ask them why and they say, it can do T&L and the guy told me it could pump 30 million polygons per second & has a fill-rate of 800 Mpixels...little do they know that their card cannot do 30 million polygons per second or 800Mpixels in a game...I feel sorry for these people getting conned by professional conmen/conwomen (aka the marketing department). Ask any ASIC or computer engineer or honest Nintendo employee what it can really do in game, and prepare to be disappointed.

$300 would be pushing it for me. If the card was absolutly amazing I would pay $300 but I doubt it. I would probalby pay $250 for a next gen card.

:( Unfortunately, you're not going to get the best of the best graphics card for $250. You have to pay $500/600 for that, so it would seem :|

Haven't broken the $200 dollar mark yet but twice I've gotten up got online and spent over $1000 on various computer parts just because I felt like it. So I really have no limit.
