No, I'm not asking for advice. ;) Just curious what you would pick if you got to be any of the professions listed above, and achieve celebrity status with.

Don't want to become a commun... i mean movie star. Cause you have to be liberal to make it big, realize the republicans (at least admit it) are the big stars because nothing can really touch them.

Supermodel, because that would make it easier to date the women supermodels. ;)

Movie star. VERY few people are famous during their life for an invention they made. How many can you think of right now? The guy who made segway comes to mind. And yet I know of dozens of movie stars by face. That's the ticket.

Now fame anybody can get through a life of filthy crime. In terms of becoming both rich and famous right place right time. Most of being truly rich and famous is luck. With hardwork comes good things, but I'd wager that the majority of hollywood stars, born again (and not those born into the business) would not be able to do it again.

I guess movie star since you generally have a longer career than a professional athlete does.

Hmmm... I guess I would choose to be one of those people who sits quietly in the background but who is so charming, wise and nice that others seek them out for help and advice in all manner of things.Muscles turn to fat, looks fade, it's the clever that very often get (and keep) the gold.

I would rather be (mildly) famous for some great invention or theory, as then I would (hopefully) not be constantly in the public eye all the time.

<-- doesn't enjoy publicity, and is kind of shy.

You can be rich in so many ways other than financially and at the same time famous...or infamous.

Oh, I forgot to put mine. I'd be a rock star. :) How can you compete with going out on a stage, thousands of people scream at the meer sight of you, then you sit down and start to play, and those thousands of people whom you've never met are all singing along to the song you wrote. Wow. What a feeling that must be.

I'd rather be a respected / mildly famous cult musician like Richard Thompson or John Hiatt than a rich and famous flavor-of-the-moment rock / pop star like (b)Ryan Adams. Too bad my singing voice is enough to wither plants and I couldn't play a chord (or accordion) to save my life.

i guess it depends on what community you look at. i think i would much rather be famous through some innovation in an academic community than famous through movies to the movie watching community (of course, much larger than the academic one).

The only choice that actually earned the riches was invent something, the others play and don't really do anything to benefit society that couldn't be replaced in five minutes by some other form of entertainment;)
