Poll: What's the best OS for gaming?

My brother thinks Win98 is the best OS for gaming. I use Win2k because of my dual processor system, but I also find it better for gaming. The only limitation is the very few games that aren't supported under 2k so that I either have to tinker with them to get them to run, or dual boot to Win98 to play those games. But this is just one or two games and I think eventually this will not be necessary as game devs begin to release more Win2k supported games.
So what's your opinion? Win98, Win2k, or some other OS?

How old are the games that you're playing. Any game made in the last year or so should run fine on Win2k. I've RARELY had to tinker with a game to get it to run. Anyway, I'm not too concerned about fps, I just want it to look nice and smooth. I would say Win2k because I hate dual-booting.

Win98SE for anything not made in the last 2 months, after that 2k and 98SE are about equal imesho.

Win2k is awesome for stability, I run it on my own game box, but the 60hz refresh rate problem is annoying. That's why I voted for WinME.

Win2k is the greatest balance of stability and performance. The 60Hz refresh problem is solved with the fix that's around.

CPBrownson stolls into the family room, where Brother is sitting.

CPBrownson: THey said you are wrong, and I'm right.

98 still crashes and blue screens, 2k is nice, no crashes but there is a reduction in preformance but if u have a nice video card and cpu u wont knotice.
