Well, my friend just bought a new Honda Accord EX V6 last month, and I think his car can beat my Mustang ... do you guys think so?

Ford Mustang || 190 HP 3.8 Liter || Manual Transmission || 225 Torque || Weight 3,064 lbs
Honda Accord || 200 HP 3.0 Liter || Auto Transmission || 195 Torque || Weight 3,283 lbs

Edit: added more information on both cars

Detailed information on both cars.

The mustang... better torque, and manuals are ALWAYS better than automatics.

Please... an accord beating a mustang when they are both stock? Not gonna happen, even if the mustang isn't the 4.5 or whatever the bigger engine is now

If both cars are stock & stick, the Mustang will win.

Hands down, a stang, unless you dont know how to shift...

I own the accord, the tranny just sux big time..

I thought that 3.8 gets higher HPs... friends got the same 3.8 they use in winstars and it's got 220 something torque...
must be the modifiy air intake...

accord is a sedan and just that, racing a pony hahahahah

Um....I beg to differ. New automatics are almost always faster through the 1/4 and have better fuel economy than their manual counterparts. The Accord will handle better......and long term endurance will really whip you ;)

If the Mustang - with 27% more displacement, an extra gear and a clutch - cannot beat a family sedan, that's SAD.

Stop the insanity! You must be thinking about CVTs which are in barely a handful of cars. The vast majority of cars still offer a superior 1/4 and better gas economy with a manual transmision. There are only a tiny number of automatics that are not CVT that give a faster 1/4 than a manual.

Once again, I'm going to vote for my car over either of the competitors.

Don't the people in this forum ever have a race that doesn't involve a civic or accord?

What the weight on each car? I've seen stock 4 bangers beat stock v6 stangs like nothing. For example Preludes, celicas, Wrx's, etc

nono

a 4 is a baby pony
a 6 is a teenager pony
a 8 is a 21+ pony
a 10 is a middle age pony
a 12 is a getting old but pretty good pony

Apparently not, or there'd be a lot less people drag racing Honda Accords around here.

No modifications; straight from the factory without extra work on it.

Actually that should be a close race chief man....most likely you will win but no much....i would say 1-2 car lengths at the most. Let us know who wins.

Don't get all sedans down to much for not being able to beat a V6 Mustang.
I know for a fact that a stock Grand Prix GT can beat a Mustang V6 in the 1/4 mile. Never seen a 'Stang V8 against a sedan of any sort, but I am sure the winner would be clear there.

But in reference to an Accord, I dunno unless you actually race them. To me it seems like my Grand Prix GT handles and is faster than my buddies' Accord V6 so maybe Accord's do have some tranny issues that would keep them down.
