POLL: What WM do you use?

Can I get a vote for TWM? It's all I use over vnc 😉 although I've heard that bb or enlightenment should be low enough in overhead to do it nicely.

Added twm. E has traditionally been kind of resource intensive, thats the main reason I use bb. Its very light.
 
n0cmonkey: you forgot about Xfce!! The one that I use in more computers!

I also use KDE and IceWM, but I prefer XFCE for its CDE feeling...

Blackbox development has been renewed. Thats onf of the reasons I havent bothered with fluxbox 🙂
 
WindowMaker on my Cyrix 6x86 box with 32 mb ram - works like a charm.
For some reason I started using KDE on my Duron, don't know why.
 
I use blackbox because I only have 32 MB. I want to try KDE/kwm and Gnome/sawfish if I ever get more memory.

Where is blackbox development? All I ever find are the broken links to alug.

Enlightenment for me. I've tried quite a few of them (Gnome, KDE, IceWM, WindowMaker, Blackbox) and I always end up back in Enlightenment. I just installed Fluxbox the other day to check it out, and while its very nice I just prefer the look of Enlightenment.
 
What does "forgo window managers" mean? Do you use X primitives or do you only use console? If the former, there should be an option of none.

Enlightenment is my WM. I used Window Maker for a while, Afterstep for a while, blackbox for a while kde for a while, sawfish, etc.

Blackbox is too minimalistic. (I would run this on my Ipaq but there's a problem with the monocrome version of blackbox, so I run ice there). Enlightenment is not that bloated .... at least not for "todays" machines.
When you look at the footprint of gnome (no pun intended) or kde for that matter and compare it to enlightenment you'll see it's not that bad. Then again, I don't run enlightenment on my firewall, I just use the console there.

I think it meant console only. And either way if they dont use one they dont need to vote in the poll 🙂

I like how minimalistic it is. It keeps my slow hardware running great. 🙂

The more recent versions are supposed to be a lot better too.

kwm whenever possible. Spare me your anti-KDE rhetoric, I don't want to hear it.

When kwm is NOT possible, I'm usually stuck with twm, which is almost as bad as the stippled background that X defaults to. :disgust:
