Id probably be more comfortable hearing and saying, "Back in 06 things were different."

yes, i have heard this used many times "back in '06... blah blah blah" , where '06 is pronounced "ought" , so that is correct

And the funny thing is I meant "oh6". It just sounds more modern. When I turn 75 in 2045, Ill probably start saying "ought6". :)

My grandmother, who was born in the 1890's, used to refer to her childhood in the "oughty's". Just a thought.

what the hell is an 'ought'? i'd here someone say ought-6, and have to smack them and sounding canadian. 'OH'... its 'OH'.

I have heard "Zeros", for me its all about twenty-oh-one or twenty-oh-six ect....

Uh, you forgot 1899, 1799, 1699, etc. 1999 was not the first time this issue came up.
