obviously there are those sports where your physique will be the major factor, i.e. height in basketball, size in football, etc.
sometimes just determination is enough when genes let you down (i.e. NBA - Spud Webb, Mugsie Bogues).

which sport do you think that one would have the best chance to go professional in if you were to train early, as in grade school?

I think its gotta be tennis, golf, soccer or baseball, where size doesn't matter as much as training.

I would say golf or baseball off that list.

But as far as other sports go i would say bowling or pool would have to be the easiest

Obviously, none of you have ever played golf competitively. I think they're all hard to do and really couldn't pick one.

You still need hand/eye coordination to hit a golf ball ;)

yes i have. and if you had the time and money to spend your days training you could become a pro.

Boxing is actually the 'easiest' per say to go pro. You have to train like a mo-fo though, and it's hard work. But...it's better conditioning for your body than all these other sports.

whoever voted for golf are pretty dumb.....it's probably the hardest to go pro...well, they're all pretty damn tough, ..but baseball, there's so many chances to go pro....so many camps..etc....

there's no way golf is among the easiest..u know hhow goddamn hard the sport is?..let alone to keep up the consistency and mental toughness of the pro golfers for 4 consecutive days?...it's not really about talent..it's all in ur head......

...golf, tennis, basketball (all of which where individualism is highly regarded) should be taken off the list and not even considered.....

Golf definatly isn't the easiest.

Natural talent will get you nowhere in golf. If your over 12 and your not already a scratch golfer forget about going pro.

Depends on what you mean by "pro." To be on the PGA Tour is probably among the more difficult things on this list. But to be a club pro? That'a "pro" right? and there are thousands of those. . .

yeah u try doing that..and hitting the ball the way u want it to......and there's a ton lot more mental stress involved in golf than there is in baseball....and ur not pressured to hit every ball like in golf..where one misstroke can screw up your whole flawless round....

EDIT: yeah i meant PGA tour...not those wannabe pros like in the nike tour or just ur usual club pro

i never said its easy to go pro in golf... i mean i play and i suck

but i think of those it is the easiest when u account for the fact that u dont need natural physical attributes, like being big

I would say PGA pro, since that would be the closest comparison to other professional sports organizations (NFL, MLB, NBA, etc).

yeah true......but i'm thinking next-gen golfers will have similar physique as tiger woods...his height and strength (see him in real life..he is quite buff now) gives him a HUGE HUGE advantage over other tour players..that's why he's so dominant...no other player in the history of the game (asside from jack..but back then, there weren't as many talented people as there is now) has ever been so dominant for such a consistent period of time...

never in golf has the media been expectant of one person to win each time.....tiger is the first....

next-gen golfers will probably have a similar physique as tiger ...height = greater shaft length = greater distance for the ball = more eagles

(look @ the up and coming michelle wie for example....6 footer 13 yr old out-driving all the players in the lpga...)

I voted for golf, because while you can teach yourself a good swing, you can't teach yourself size and speed, a necessity in almost every other sport on the list. Mental toughness can be learned, physical prowess cannot.
