How much of your day to day job functions require the use of the PC?

For myself I would have to say about 99%. My primary job is testing software, and when I'm not doing testing I'm sending emails and typing up reports of what I've tested.

All. Sometimes I feel bad that I'm wasting my life away doing something that makes no difference in the world. Then I just post on ATOT and I feel much better.

And the jobs that don't depend on the computer are the jobs most stable and most sought after 🙂

My sister's father-in-law made a fortune installing steam equipment for commercial companies.

I also know a guy who works for Cintas, "The Uniform People", making over 50k a year delivering uniforms. Works Mon-Thurs with 6-8 hour shifts.

Freudian?

Mine is all computers as I'm a developer/nefer.

Increasingly jobs will rely on a person using a computer, since they are becoming more pervasive in society.

i work in a call center operations position... so 100% of my job is on computers (note: i don't answer phones... i supervise the people who do).

PC - 100% but we use predominantly PeopleSoft database stuff with lots of Mainframe applications for banking.

Maybe if I were in advertising/marketing/eCommerce they'd use a Mac.
