Poll: What language should I take?

I need to take 4 semesters of language to graduate.

I was thinking Russian, but Mandarin is spoken by a large portion of the population. I don't like Spanish (I've taken too much of it). I want something interesting.

What do you think? It's got to be something fairly mainstream that a University would have 4 courses of.

Latin or Greek. 🙂 😛

While those would be interesting, they don't have a whole lot of use. Latin is dead and the Greek language will dissapear in 2009 when...

Well, I've said enough. No dead or about to be dead languages, please. 😉

German, it's the easiest of the languages listed and I've taken three years of it, not bad at all... Sprechen Sie Deutsch? Nein? Geh zum Teufel! 😛

I'd like to become fluent, actually. I don't think I'll ever be as comfortable in another language, but I'd like to be able to visit whatever country and be able to hold a conversation.

auf wiedersehen

well I had 10+ years of chinese school, and I took German for 3 years in high school.

They both suck. Foreign languages suck. I wish there was a universal language, not only would we not have to take these stupid classes, but I'd actually be able to have a normal relationship with my mom.

German is pretty easy. Mandarin is pretty hard. I'd say they are both pretty useful

Is that what this says:

"Do you speak German? No? You are the Devil!"

Take Arabic and then get a job with the CIA.

Agreed. It seems Arabic speakers are in high demand in many government positions.

I also have to do 4 semesters of foreign language and I picked latin. It is quite easy if you have done Spanish but still different enough not to be boring.

I think is supposed to mean "Go to Hell" but it says "Go to the Devil"

I recommend German.
I got to advanced level in a mere two years of time. It's easy to learn if you speak one or more Roman language (you do).
