Now that my brother is away and his car is with me. I have to make the choice every morning.

The one on the left or the one on the right.

Help me pick

An Import. That's the choice I've made every time, except for that POS Omni I had for awhile.

I definately rather have an import. Right now I wish I had the car that everyone hates (Honda Civic Si in Electron Blue), but I don't care cause I love that car.

AMERICAN MUSCLE - V8 Corvette here...
I have a 75 Vette 375RWHP... No Rice Burner Import here will touch it.

As far as takin turns I can handle them better than most imports. I am also putting nitto tires and 17" wheels soon to drop my car a little bit and give me even better cornering. Rice Burners that cut their springs cause there wheels to become slanted giving less Tire to ground traction which completely defeats the point of lowering the car.

VI... I would definitely take one also! But my car should tear one up in the line and all around when I get the new tires. I haven't got the chance to go at it with a Z06 yet cause of their rarity in my area (0 that I know of).

Doesn't seem quite fair to lump any old foreign car against muscle cars. Is there some kind of common denominator, like the total initial cost? How about a $20,000 US car VS $20,000 Import? Makes more sense to me, especially if you're talking old iron in both cases.

I want the most bang for my buck with cars as well as PC. I would grab a 4dr version of a "Muscle" car, because it would have all the advantages of the muscle car, performance-wise, and very low initial cost. Same engine, tranny, linkage, brakes and general parts availability. Basically, I'd pick American V8, RWD for ruggedness and cheap, easy to install parts. More likely a Cadillac Fleetwood than a Chevy SS.

If I were to go for an import, at the same price point as American, I'd probably get a Parisian (Built in Canada) :p

The rice boys that cut their springs are fuggin' idiots. Once, driving my stock '87 Accord, some kid in a cut-spring '92 or '93 Accord tried to take me on around some freeway curve marked for 45 MPH. He almost bit it with his car bouncing around on the lower limit of his suspension. I embarassed him badly. I must have exited that curve at over 70 MPH, while his crippled car probably didn't hit 60.

I was reading on another forum about to guys with Civic SIs talking one had a lot of stickers and a 17" wing. The other guy looked like a plane jane. Well they decided if the plane jane one he got the wing and if the other guy one he forked over $200 in cash. Never the less the Plane Jane killed the ricer. After the race he got his car, grabbed a baseball bat, and beat the wing off the rice burner. What the plane jane looking guy didn't tell him is that he had cam work and was spraying NOS. That would be a site to see IMHO.

American all the way. Rather fill up with gas than rice. I'll take my Dakota 4X4 any day. Crush those puny little rice burners like they were speed bumps.

The American cars only go in straight lines thing is kinda old and worn out. Has anyone really looked at the stats lately of the Z06, the Cobra-R and the Viper???? When Motor Trend did it's tests on these cars the Viper and the Cobra-R were second to NONE and finally FOLLOWED by the Ferrari 360 in the slalem.

Also Road and Track did one also, and the Z06 got SECOND of all the cars on the track race. (Tracks have TURNS)

Yeah I'm afraid you're "american cars can only go in straight lines" thing is wrong. But either way I like some low end HP and torque, wind up to 6k before I see any power, no thanks.
