The other day I was surfing the net, looking to upgrade my computer (memory, video card, etc) when I came across Premier Systems Website

They are selling 128mb PC150 memory for $156.95. What is the deal with the memory and how fast is it? I talked to one of the reps and they said they sell at least 50 a day, it is the hottest thing "after Palm Pilots." The memory is by Kingmax and the CAS is 2 and it is 6NS, which is great ... but is good for me? They have an unconditional refund policy on all memory so I bought 3 sticks, let me know what you think...

By the way the have great deals on Generic memory (i.e. 128mb pc133 is $109.95)

It's an unofficial memory speed. Anyway you can make memory like 5ns = 200Mhz.. ie. 1000/133 = 7.5 1000/100 = 10ns.

So if you can make 6.6ns chips = 150Mhz top speed. That's why some old PC66 @ 10ns works at PC100.

& Some PC100 8ns works up to 124Mhz.

The question is whether your mobo can take it.

Well you can get Kingmax BGA PC150 for $138 and it's been shown to actually acheive this speed... Mwave has it avalible...

as far as PC100 or for that matter ANY ram, it's a matter of Luck and speed rating... Just like CPU's, there are MEmory chips that far exceed their speed bin...
for example my 2yr old PC100 RAM goes easily upto 150FSB (helped by my solid Asus P2B), and will do upto 140Mhz with CAS2....
