My car (92 bonneville) has a very talkative transmission. It likes to talk mostly when hitting overdrive.
Now, it kicks in at about 63km/h. That depends on how fast you accelerate of course, but that's about average. I know that if you are to drive around that range, it's going to end up going VOOM VOOM VOOM VOOM because it's deciding on what gear to choose. That isn't a problem for me, I either slow down or speed up. Normally when it does go into overdrive, you will hear the engine RPM speed up a bit then it will go GRRRRRR (kind of a grinding noise) VOOM and there you are. When you give it a lot of more gas it will go VGRGRRRR and then come out of overdrive so you can accelerate. Is this really a problem? My driving habits never really bring out these effects much.
My mom on the other hand, insists that something is wrong, yadda yadda yadda. Anyone got any ideas?
I dunno. Maybe I should just tell her to stick with 'little D.'
