He's dead and it doesn't change a damn thing that has happened/enacted since 9/11/01.

When can we get rid of the patriot(bullshit name) act?

Bad and ambiguous poll.

For me this is about retribution pure and simple. Most humans recognize on basic level that justice was done. Fucker finally got what he deserved. I don't think it's going to materially change the problems with Muslim terrorism but that doesn't mean it wasn't worth it.

I agree with those who said where are other choices, because our concerns can only be with the future. But its somewhat of a sadistic pleasure to agree with BrenCat, to realize that at least Bin Laden had to suffer through some 40 minutes of the same personal terror, he so viciously visited on his victims. Maybe ole Bin Laden though he could still again escape, but once shot in the head, he was probably dead before his body hit the floor.
.

Sadistic pleasure? Seriously?? I wonder if you're trolling but in case you aren't, let me ask you if you feel bad that Osama had to know there was no way out and he was going to die -- either at our hands or his own...kinda like those trapped near the top of the WTC had to choose whether or not to jump or die in a fire??! Fuck Osama and his feelings and may he burn in hell for all eternity.

Nope, it's like your parents taught you when you were younger...be good and treat others well, or else! Karma motherfucker...what goes around comes
around sooner or later.

Two things for me:

1. Closure for the families who lost loved ones on 9/11.

2. To let our enemies know that they can run but they can't hide, so sooner or later, they will pay the ultimate price if the US so chooses.

I guess I'm kinda upset that Osama wasn't captured alive so the world could see him crying like a little bitch and saying that he was wrong to murder innocent people. Make the world see infinite despair and regret in his eyes.

Of course he was fvcking batshit insane, so he probably never really did feel any regret or despair, in which case, he's most usefull dead.

The man was a symbol to Muslim extremists everywhere just as Hitler remains a symbol to Neo-Nazis and racists everywhere. If he was allowed to live and Al Qaeda managed another serious attack on the US his legend would grow and, like Hitler, his example could inspire countless generations to new depths of depravity. Anyone who doesn't understand just how powerful symbols can be and what may have been averted by his death hasn't been paying attention.
