What sort of compromise shall they force on us, eh? Oh... I see. Let's mandate healthcare without paying for it. Wait, that's how we got the ACA. Which they promptly called the devil incarnate and spent 100% of their time and energy trying to destroy.

Republicans go banana zealot EXTREME against a position that was the agreed upon compromise a Republican Governor had achieved a few years earlier in MA. That same Governor was then nominated to lead the Republican Party in their attack against his own policy and their own compromise.

Do you understand the ways in which such a compromise has 1: already been done and 2: is completely worthless?

The ACA isn't completely worthless. It's just the best we could do at the time. The GOP has been tearing it down since the beginning & may finally succeed with the current suit before the SCOTUS.
