My situation is a little bit different in that I received a graduate fellowship with a corporate sponsor. So, after I left undergrad, I worked with my sponsor during the summer and went to grad school the following fall and spring.

Thankfully, I didn't mess up enough for them to not want me back when I was done. :)

-SUO, 3.85 BS, 3.6 MS (I think)

SUO you are smart! I haven't graduated yet but it doesn't look like it'll be that high or remotely close to SUO's. :(

3.2 Overall
3.45 Core: BS in ASM

3.5 Overall
3.8 Core: BS in ECE

Try to maintain it over 3.0.

In my experience, prospective companies initially won't look at anything lower, kinda like a filtering criteria.

Hmm... you guys got me worried. So should I make my classes grades then? See at my school University of California Santa Cruz we can choose grades or Pass/Fail.... but with Pass/Fail they give a written evaluation of the student... which I like.

4.0 (hopefully) I've got three semesters left. This plus working for GE Aircraft engines over the summer and my part time job now (automation). I should be looking good.

2.40 BS in CS

Worked full time through college. Very easy to find a job afterwards.

2.63/4.0. But that did make upper 1/3 of class. BSME at Oklahoma U.
Engineers are in extremely high demand now. They gotta keep some around to blame when something goes wrong.

Am I right to think that if you guys have the choice the underperformers in the class pick pass/fail, while the people who are smart and put a lot of time in go for grades? There is a reason for it and I think I've answered your question. I am not involved with hiring but if I was and I saw a bunch of P's on somebody's transcript but had to read through some stuff about them (written by a teacher who may hardly even know you), I would wonder why they had not done grades...

4.42/5 in Geological Engineering at Laval University, grad of 1980. They only gave straight grades of A, B, C, D, or E...no + or -... and the morons did the bell curve on a 23-student class, which meant that another guy and I always fought for first place (the only A(5), second-place got you a B(4) in that course, even if your mark was 95%, which was really suck). :|
