I don't think I'd ever use it becaues that's intaking an awful lot of fat in all that meat. I'd stick w/ the low-fat, low-calorie diet. I've read sites that say they work the same. Just my opinion.

It obvioulsy helps people lose weight, but it doesn't help them keep it off. Doesn't look like a healthy long-term solution for most people.

It works, but since most people will not stick to it they're not going to find it any more beneficial than the other diets they've tried and lacked the willpower to stick to. Until the general public realizes that their weight is their fault and not the fault of an insufficient diet we'll continue to see people make excuses, all the while buying larger and larger clothes and cars to cart around their failing physiques.

Or, how about the option... IF everyone would do 30 minutes of QUALITY excercise a day they wouldnt need to diet."

I prefer the "Don't eat crap and lose weight while exercising" diet. That one works for everyone.

Nobody can say it doesn't work; it's plainly obvious that by reducing carbs one loses weight. However! Carbs are a necessary part of our diet. Rather than reducing carbs, people should focus on maintaining a balanced diet, with a fair amount of carbs, protein, etc, and, most importantly, To Exercise! You can lose weight by consuming fewer carbs, but it's far healthier to lose weight by eating healthy and burning more calories than you consume.

My stepmother is on it now. She's losing weight quickly and it's helping her blood pressure.

My take is its good in the short run for quick weight loss but its so unhealty. People take it too far and go all out.
I mean the suger carbs is what kills people but im talking about say a candy bar not pasta. The other thing is you lose tons of energy and feel tired all the time. Personally i tried it lost poundage and hit up the gym. I now eat healthy and yes i drink a lot but ive kept it off.

I know people who live by it and if something has 4-5gram of carbs in it they wont eat it. I think you people are sickos, need to get a life and hit up the freaking gym

Yep, this pretty much sums up my opinion on all diets. Dieting is for people who are too lazy to exercise.

Do we have to go over this again.

Atkins is a quick fix for people who did not maintain their proper balance throughout life.

You use atkins to fix, and then traditional means to maintain.
