What about the the option for &quot;Who cares, its only a number that isn't representative of much and is completely useless after high school graduation, and all one can do is compensate for a lack of self worth by pinning a number to themselves in order to provide a basis for being better at something than their fellow man&quot;... and no, that isn't represented by the <1000 people.

It's kind of like those freakish school children that hound you and hound you until you tell them your test score, and then bitch when you got higher...

blah blah blah, then don't vote, blah blah blah...
... sorry to be a fuddy duddy that doesn't like to flash a number around...
 
The score you get on the SATs can have an impact on your adult life, just not a direct one. An SAT score can potentially ruin an otherwise exceptional college application, especially with the extreme competition between applicants these last few years. If you can't get a good education you may have trouble finding work (depending on your field, of course).

The score itself has no relevant meaning, though. Hell, the verbal section really only tests your vocabulary and your ability to think like the test-writers (depending on the way you look at the problem, there are different answers).

Taking it in November or December, but according to my PSAT score, I'm suppose to get a 1200-1300. Atleast that's what my counselor told me..

More reason to go to a bad college. My SAT score sucked. However, I feel it doesn't acknowledge the specific attributes of a person, and I feel school, as well as the church(nother topic), have gone down the crapper. Why? It's all standard. We're all sheep.

1250. Took it once. No prep class, no studying. Cold turkey. Mom reminded me the night before that I had better stop playing in the BBS and get to sleep because I had to take the SAT in the mornin.
 
SuperGroove, you can sometimes get colleges to pay attention to you instead of your scores if you apply &quot;early decision.&quot; Ie, you commit to going there if accepted.

The Princeton Review site has lots of in-depth information on lots of colleges, including what they value most and least when considering your application.
