Actually I had a job offer in MO with the same company that I used to work for in MS. It dried up though.

Ugh, they just re-elected Hillary Clinton. I've got to get the hell out of here. ;)

Kingston and Ulster sucks, I can't imagine why you'd want to stay up here (I'm in Poughkeepsie myself). The weather's terrible (just wait for the winter!), taxes are out of control and forget about ever owning a house around here unless you make a ton more money per year (which you will have to commute to NYC to do, and that's a hell of a commute). That money your old job is offering you will get you A LOT further than up here.

I'm stuck here at the moment, but given the chance, I'd be gone in an instant.

You sound like my co-workers when I told them I was thinking about leaving. :p

If you're ambitious stay in New York. If you're complacent move back to MS.

Well, doing the GIS is far more interesting to me than IT. No offense to the IT people here, but it's mind-numbingly boring. GIS is a growing field, especially what I'd be doing.

If they find you some cute female roommates, then move back. :p
