Personally, I find "Valentine's Day" to be yet ANOTHER day of the year that I have to reach deep into my near-empty wallet all in the interest of keeping the peace and ensuring that I get to have sex again sometime this year.

I say we change the name to reflect what it really is.

What do you think we should call it?

Vote in the poll.

I give my wife flowers every week. She doesn't need a day in the calendar to know how much I love her.

I'd pay a lot this year, to still be with my ex...it'd be 3 years! whoa. I guess 2.5 was long enough ;)

We never did that much to celebrate either...we always had a good time, so it wasn't a big deal.

Well, speak for yourself,I think I'm a great girlfriend,I am generous and give great gifts and certainly don't with hold sex,I don't think it too much to ask to be remembered romantically occasionally.

"Hallmark's Fat Cash Day"

As we're on the topic, does anyone celebrate "Sweetest Day"?

Don't change it! It's a wonderful kissy-face day that men show their true committment to their love! (IOW, I'm a woman) :D

lol,the howling masses will be decending on you now.

All kidding aside,I don't think one need to spend a small fortune to show somebody a little romance and any woman who demands such isn't being fair.Otoh,Maybe I'm old school but I was taught that a dude who blows you off routinely on days like Valentine's or your birthday was sending a woman a very clear message that he didn't care for her much.

I think the official name should be "National Retailer's didn't have anything to hype up in February and sell ridiculous amounts of crap that men are guilted into buying by their S/O's so they mass marketed Valentines Day, day".
