OK... so I go to the bathroom and I'm on the porcelain. As I was about to walk out of the stall, someone was at the urinal. Turns out it was the janitor of the building and he strikes up a conversation with me. He talks to me sometimes, I don't talk to him. As he's talking, he zips up and goes to the sink to wash up.

janitor: "Hey how's it going?" *He's still in the urinal!!!*
me: "not much" *tries to tidy up ASAP*

WTF?! Is there something wrong with him??

EDIT: I wasn't angry nor do I look down upon janitors/sanitation workers.

Also, I recall he was still at the urinal when he talked to me

EDIT: for those that are curious, I didn't look over to see his sha-bang; I'm living up to the Asian stereotype if you know what I mean :(

You do not talk to people in restrooms. End of story. I'm there to handle business, do not address me.

Exactly. It wasn't that I look down at janitors nor like to talk to him more often, but rather the circumstances. I just emptied my junk reserves, let me have some alone time to relax afterwards k?

I don't even get it.
Edit. Ah...talking to people in restrooms..why be angry because he did? If he cleans the place and so on, I guess he doesn't do a lot of talking on his job, and that would really be his domain..if you can't take it, just throw a wet paper-towel in his face and slam the door on your running way out. If you do that though, he might find our where your shoes live.

You have a problem if you think there was something improper about that. I talk to people all the time in the can at work. What's the big deal?

Edit-Hell, I have conversations while I'm at the urinal with other guys. I don't see what the big deal is. It's not like I'm peeking over at their naughty bits or anything.

Maybe he can leave you a surprise next time he cleans your office...at least he wasn't checking out your package

Don't piss off the janitors

Besides most of them are pretty cool people

I think it's a little wierd to talk to someone *while* actually using the facilities (like talking to someone in the stall or while pissing) but at the sink? That's fine.

Oh dear lord, someone was just being friendly, give it a try sometime. I would not like someone to strike up a convo with me *while* I am in the stall, but all you were going to do is wash your hands at that point, what's the big deal?

Talking with you while doing your duty is probably bad manners. Taking offense at talking to you at the sink is childish. He was trying to be friendly.
