I'm using 2 Voodoo2 cards in SLI for my 3d. I'm wondering if I should change for a Geforce2 MX...I mean does the change worth the money? What kind of performance boost I should expect? Just 4 or 5 FPS or more something like 20 FPS.

I'm using :
Celeron 500
Abit-BH6
192mbs 100mhz SDRAM

You're joking right? We had these debates with V2 SLI vs V3 3000. The V3 3000 wins in most cases then. The MX definetely wins now. If u can afford it do it. On the other hand if u only play at 800x600 and don't care about visual quality in 2d or 3d then stick with what u got.

mcgi6ah2, a couple of points: SLI can go higher than 800x600. That is a limitation of a single Voodoo 2. Also, Voodoo 2 does not do 2D at all. 2D quaility is not affected. That being said, an upgrade may not be a bad idea. I had an SLI setup back in the day. It was the king then. You can do much better now. I got sick of the 3 video card setup, and all that heat that it generated. Most any of the new cards will be faster, have better image quality, and run cooler than what you have now. Plus you will get your PCI slots back. The MX is one choice of many. You can also get a Radeon 32 meg DDR for $150 after the $50 rebate.

oh PUH LEAZE! i am using a mx and in games it is amazing for the money.. i think most would agree that for the money its the best buy out there. on that system it work just fine.. im using one and its on a thunderbird 800. think about 65fps in Q3A all graphics up in 1024x768. about 10fps off from a radeon and i gave $108 when they first came out. i would recommend the radeon but nvidia has a superior driver team and their drivers are far superior to ati's.. you'll get alot more for your money out of any of nvidia's cards. its just the best way to go like your sli setup was to back in the day.
if i were you and didnt care about twinview.. definitly go for a gts. i would have myself but i expected DDR performance but its not (BTW dont get a ddr). the MX is very cheap and the GTS is great middle of the road.
