what new hdds? and in what areas will they beat a raptor at? please post a link to this information.
the raptors performance is largely based, among other things, by its spindle speed which results in lower seek times and are noticeable if you use your computer quite a bit.
it really depends on your usage but unless you are doing quite a bit of disk intensive activity i wouldn't do it. if you made the raptor the system/app drive and the 200GB as the storage drive, now that would be the ideal setup.

...being a scsi person, he would have to go the newest gen 15k rpm drives, which are ~$230 plus a card and cable and it would be 36GB, the raptor seems to be a decent drive for its price
