Poll: UPDATE: My Stolen tires: No help from Les Schwab

Well, as you know, my tires were stolen, by "pros" who had air tools and everything, and the plate number given by the witnesses comes back to a shop in hillsboro, the police found my tires at that shop...and of course there is nothing they can do, because they cannot positively identify my tires (no serial number, but note they are 44" 18.5x15 super swampers, not a common tire, have to be special ordered) and the company who the shop is a member dealer for, well, they dont want to do much about it. They keep saying "we are looking into it" Apparently, I am not the only one who has been screwed by these guys lately, and they are just ignoring it. So, naturally, I decided to pitch in my expertise to help a little group....

EDIT: I know Les Schwab had nothing to do with this, it is a "member store" they do not own, but they could step in and say something...

The Newest slam site out there.. www.f*cklesshwab.com Disenfranchised customers speak out.

A picture of my truck, tire-less will appear there soon.

It sucks that you had a bad experience with them. Personally, I have gotten better customer service from Les Schwab than any other retailer I have ever dealt with. I would not consider buying tires anywhere else.

I agree they are a great company, but this particular dealer is a "member" dealer, and they are theives, and LS Corporate does not want to help out much. There are more people than just me, two others that I know of, and we all have specialty, expensive tires. a former employee started the website, and he knows a lot about this store, and plans to tell everyone about it. Maybe LS corporate will step in and say something if enough people bitch, or they get a lawsuit slapped on them. This store is not representing Les Schwab very well, at all.

I see what you mean, but if the police can't won't do anything, I doubt Les Schwab (the company, not the man) will.
They are probably thinking that if there is no (legal) proof that a crime has been committed, why should they step in? Obviously, they have a few ticked off customers but it is probably not worth it to them to drop the dealer. From what you have written, it looks bad for the dealer but it is really circumstantial evidence. At least they said they are looking into it, maybe something will turn up on these guys and they will get shut down. Sorry man.

you need to bug the county prosecutor...

evidence will be easy.. the business will have order & delivery records from their supplier & where did they get the exact same tires ?, etc ?

a civil case would be easier... but you need to get things in motion now ... before papers, records & 'stuff' is 'forgotten' & lost.

An ongoing court case & bad publicity is a better incentive to 'fix' things than a few customer complaints.

Yeah, I think you are right. I am not sure a few people with stolen tires will be enough to get him to help, but you never know, considering this could get much worse.

MAN!!!!! 44 inch Swampers??? How common are they in your area that a shop would "just happen" to have a used set laying around? I have 38 inch Swampers on my Bronco and I have a hard time finding someone to order them, let alone have any in stock.

Customer: Do you have any 44 inch Super Swampers?
Dealer: Oh yeah, I just happen to have a complete set I just stole...errr..(cough)....got in today.....yeah, that's it...I just got them in today...

Yeah, Exactly. It was kind of hard for the police officers involved to understand what I meant until they saw them. I had to wait a month to get those tires from that shop, had them special ordered. and now they have a pair "lying around". Pretty nuts. Even the people at Les Shmuck corporate knew the tires were pretty rare. by the way, dont forget to visit the

F*CK LES SCHWAB SITE

These guys are great. Should have pics of my truck up soon.

No, I only had liability insurance. My Insurance agent wont put full coverage on the truck, because of the 16" lift on the truck. PICS of what it looks like now. BTW, The truck is for sale...

You have an eye witness that saw their truck steal your tires and the police say they won't do anything? Get real, go over their heads and talk to the DA yourself. You have bonafided evidence to have the person authorized to drive that vehicle thrown in jail, unless they wanna claim it was stolen and returned. Seriously dude, I would haul them into small claims court, you don't need to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, you just have to provide any proof and the judge will grant you victory. You can ask for court costs as part of the the settlement.

File a small claims lawsuit against the shop immediately. (btw, in small claims they are not allowed to hire lawyers, so you get to face the owner in court)

they almost were, except for the fact the truck has a built 454 in it, and 1-ton running gear. Its ugly but is (used to) do great in the mud.

I am not sure what you mean. They are jpg images, very large, but I didnt want to scale them down yet, if they are to be examined.

<< Get real, go over their heads and talk to the DA yourself. You have bonafided evidence to have the person authorized to drive that vehicle thrown in jail, >>

Pretty much done. Called the DA, and he is going to have some people look into it. He says most likely nobody will go to jail, but he is very interested in this case, as he has heard of other people complaining about this, and feels that since people started a site f*cklesschwab.com that this is obviously a pattern. I will be hearing back from him soon.

<< UnixFreak: "They"? Don't you have something to do with the website? >>

Yeah, I helped with some of the graphics, and I am building a server to host it.

<< Have you started the paperwork for small claims court? >>

No, I haven't, I have been really busy at work, and I may be joining a joint lawsuit against Gratteri's, so I will see if the attorney thinks the small claims route is the way to go. I am considering that suggestion, though, it's a good idea.

Yeah, It wasnt started by me, but I am definitely helping out in any way I can. I am going to be hosting it on my server when they get kicked off their host (which they will).
