Haven't tried them all yet but Onslaught is Really Fun. It actually takes a lot of teamwork and planning and isn't just a run aroudn and kill people fest. I think Invasions looks neat too btu that's not in te demo...

I really liked BR in UT2k3, but I don't think the Colossus is a very good BR map which is probably hurting BR in UT2k4. Personally, I find Assualt and Onslaught to be great gametypes, but unfortunately I keep finding myself with clueless teammates. It's a brand new game so that's to be expected, but I think the drawback to team-based gametypes will always be bad teammates. So, once this goes retail and the low grav mut is added, I'm sure I'll be backing to playing mostly low-grav NW DM and a bit of everything else. Unless I find a good ONS/AS server or community or I join a clan which is doubtful. I'm far too anti-social for that...

The neat thing about Onslaught is the tide can turn so fast. You can be attacking the enemies main base and all of a sudden they are at yours. It's very balanced. Last night we basically kept alternating who would win. And it's good because it has things for every type of player.

Bombing run is basically like hot potato, and whoever has the ball can't shoot, so everyone around him has to protect him. Object is to shoot the bomb through the hoop in the opponents base.

And Assault is exactly what it sounds like. It's like a military mission, with objectives that need to be tackled in order. First team does it as fast as they can, then the second team has to beat their time.

CTF = UT
UT = CTF

everything else, you play to sharpen your teamwork and fragging skills, end of story!

I like BR and ONS, otho, I still don't know how to play the latter :eek:

Heck, I like them all, but I do believe that they should turn on the translocator for AS and ONS, if not, atleast ONS. Without it, you'r pretty much dead if you don't get to a vehicle quick :|

once the game comes out? Instagib CTF most likely. With the demo however....no insta and the CTF map is the worst piece of crap i've ever seen.
Onslaught is a lot of fun and may make a convert out of me once we get some modded vehicles.

bah... I don't like Onslaught... never did like most team based types, except for CTF, which owns.

Now that the game is out, thought I'd give this a bump for some more responses.. I still love Onslaught the best.
 

CTF is great, but Onslaught take the cake for "Newest Type with Cool Vehicles."

When's the next scheduled game? I donated last night! :)

btw, Onslaught has grown on me. Mostly because of the vehicle though. I wish CTF had the vehicles!!! :)

Vehicles can be used in CTF, just not on the provided maps. Wait a few days/weeks before the user made Vehicle CTF maps come out :)
