[poll] Uni Residence - Go Single Room or Pair with Random Roomate ?

I got into the residence at York University that I was hoping for, but not with my intended roomate. I can either go to this new Residence which is BRAND NEW and insanely awesome, or I can go back to my old crappy residence.

The catch with the new one, is that I will be paired up with a random student. It's a 2 bedroom suite, each room is seperate, sharing a kitchen, bathroom and living area. They say they try and match your criteria, but that is so vague.

I'm sort of torn on this one. Ugh.

Interests don't mean jack; my first year they matched me up with someone who exactly conflicted with what I wrote down under interests. The next year I got someone who I get along with really well.

LOL. York... the place with the hot girls. And no good TTC service up there. Go with the double... the place is nice, and you'll like it.

is this York, PA ? My buddy went there and I checked out the area when I visited him... *interesting* area...

Anyway.. I'd say go with a random guy... those are always fun and not permanent... who knows... maybe you'll make a lifelong friend.

I had a random roommate my freshman year of college. We still keep in touch. He turned out to be a pretty cool guy.

My only college roommate sucked, but if I didn't have to share my bedroom with him, I would not have minded him at all.

Out of curiosity where are you coming from. Specifically which city?

If you are from a small Ontario city you will notice mass amounts of multiculturalism at York more than you could believe. Afterall, Toronto has been dubbed the most multicultural city in the world.

With that in mind just remember you can get stuck with someone who will cook some ethnic foods that you won't like and so forth.

At other universities I would get a roommate but in Toronto I'd live by myself.

I went with the random roommates and it was lots of fun. Most of us got along fine till the end.

I would get one with roomies! My freshmen year i was roomates with a really nice guy. We got to be pretty good friends.

Now my 2nd year (first roomate flunked out heh) i got a guy who would beat off all the time. Every fricken day! even IF i was in the room. It was sick! it took a few months to find onother room. Talking to the guy just did NOT work. he didnt care he would do it anyway. I would turn on the lights and tell him to stop. Nope he would finish.

He would also use the same towel for a few weeks then wash it. God the room stunk.

sigh. nevermind get a single if you can heh
