Poll: Trump support hits 50% [of Republicans and (R) leaners] nationally!

All aboard the Trump train that is heading full steam ahead to DC! Send these fucking politicians who want Hillary or cruz a message that they can pound sand! Trump can be the only vote to send them a message since Bernie will probably get skewered tonight.

Donald Trump has reached 50 percent support from Republicans and Republican-leaners nationally for the first time since the beginning of the NBC News|SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking Poll in late December. This milestone is significant as the 2016 primary heads into its final few weeks of contests, as there has been intense speculation that Trump's support has a ceiling. Though his support has hovered in the high 40s since mid-March, the front-runner had yet to secure half of Republican voters.

OP, it's fine to be excited for Trump, but, you do understand that it's almost certain Billary is going to be the next POTUS, right?

This is a bit overly optimistic

Conservative guys look at the good news Charles Koch has said Clinton was better at budgets & smaller Government than George W or Cruz or Trump.

However, an earlier 2013 Gallup survey found that 42% of Americans identified as political independents, a record high. The latter result is more in line with Gallup polling in 2010 that found that 31% of Americans identified as Democrats (tying a 22-year low), 29% as Republicans, and 38% as independents.

Yeah, the data is a little old, but 50% of 29% of voters... <queue argument about a percentage of the independents lean toward Republican too.> Still, you've got half of less than half of voters. That's less than 1/4 of voters. Woopty-fucking-do. 😛
Errr, uhhhh, I mean, yeah, man, it's a sure thing. You should take Perknose up on that wager!

In related news, is it looking better now for Trump to clinch the nomination? Or is he forecast to come up a few delegates shy?

Funniest thing to me is, the LEAST person that actually wants Trump to win...

...is Trump!

PLAYING at being president is fun. He gets to say whatever, get a lot of attention ( his addiction) and when this whole troll blows over he'll get to sit back and snipe at someone else.

But in some form of reality where Trump actually won... (!!!)

That is NOT how Trump has envisioned this whole attention-whoring scheme playing out.

Granted, he's probably got way more milage out of it than he initially bargained for.

Well whoopty shit.

In other really important news, scientologists maintain they love L. Ron Hubbard more than Beck.

You're giving him too much credit. Trump is not smart. He's just a fucking idiot, appealing to other idiots.

Trump isn't an idiot. A lot of his supporters aren't the brightest, and for sure many of his detractors are absolute numbskulls, but Trump himself isn't stupid.

He's just a shameless attention whore, and that's all this is about to him, getting attention.

The TYPE of attention he gets, positive or negative doesn't matter much to him, just so long as he get it. It amazes me it's any big bit of rocket science for anyone to realize this, given it's been Trump's whole thing from the start.

Everything I've seen indicates he's a fool. I have seen nothing to make me think otherwise.

Trump is the character that Will Ferrel always plays. Very arrogant and smug moron who thinks he's incredibly brilliant. Will does it brilliantly, Trump is just pathetic. The sad part is that Trump's delusion somehow became reality because the lowest common denominator believed in his delusional persona. I'm sure this will be an interesting case study for a behaviorist some day.

In the real world Trump does nothing but sell his delusion.

It's hard to say. He may be so full of himself at this point that he may imagine that he really wants the job. His basic temperament & the fact that he doesn't play well with others makes him completely unsuitable.

I don't think the American People are dumb enough to give it to him, however. I'm not sure that the Repub Party will give him the chance, either, other than by him winning an outright majority of pledged delegates on the first vote.

It's been fascinating to watch how he's driven a wedge between the masters of wedge issues & their base. He's an absolutely magnificent con artist, a manipulative psychopath of the highest order.

But don't you want Trump to Win. The debates will be epic between two polar opposites. I am looking forward to the debates I hope Trump wins. Regardless America is doomed why not at least be entertained in the process?

I was thinking Trump experiences the Quickening after each win

The White House has been a given ever since the Republican party's blundering made Trump the odds-on favorite for the nomination. Which is to say, from the start of the whole primary process.

Democrats winning back the Senate is a very good bet.

It's going to be difficult to win the House, but if Trump is the Republican nominee, it might happen. I think Republican voters will stay away from the poles in record numbers if he gets it. Cruz would also get crushed in the general election, but he probably retains enough congressional seats for the Republicans to keep the House.

Trump is the best thing that's happened for the Democrats in ages. They couldn't have asked for a better response from the Republicans to a rather unattractive nominee of their own.

Nah, the GoP has the House Gerrymandered safe. House Democrats could get the over all majority of the votes and still wind up with the least number of seats. But the Senate could be up for grabs.

Don't kid yourself, Republicans are just a little better at the Gerrymandering game but not by much. This cycle has mostly Republicans up for reelection where as next cycle many Democrats are up for reelection. The party with the most up for reelection obviously has the most to lose.
