The traction control in my Accord is pretty much useless. The suspension geometry is such that even with the throttle pinned in first gear while making a turn, the inside front tire rarely fully breaks loose (and almost no torque steer!). So when it does kick in, it usually just slows you down and makes no contribution towards safety or steering accuracy.

In the wet or snow, it does not have enough finesse to allow the car to climb hills any better than you could with it off. It doesn't pulse fast enough and the pulses are these big shuddering jams, so on ice, you get wheelspin/dead stop/wheelspin/dead stop a few times a second. Big help.

I'm too lazy to turn it off every time I get in the car for normal driving, but I always turn it off when I want to move quickly or, ironically, whenever traction is impaired because of conditions.

I have both on my BMW and it's reassuring in inclement weather. I can turn off the stability control separately or turn both off.

I have Stability control and TC on my TSX. Neither are that important to me in a car, though I would want ABS however.

On the track, the annoying thing about the stability control is that it would activate on understeer conditions. Given that the understeer is easily manageable, I turned it off on the track.

However in my SRT-4, which does not have Stability/TC, I wouldn't require them either. ABS, however, is nice to have to avoid lock ups on track and flatspotting the tires if you make a mistake. I've only had ABS kick in when you stab on the brakes hard. If I apply the brakes smoothly to full pressure I have not had a problem with ABS coming on before the tires start chirping.
