Crumpling, as a pseudo-random action, involves risk. Folding, being entirely deterministic, does not. Folding all the way.

Its actually a combination of the two. Fold the first few layers so you have a barrier, and then a little bit of crumple for cushion.

But crumpling allows me to preserve the illusion of free choice....:(

crumple and then smooth out the top a little. folding doesn't give enough distance between poop and hand

I'm cheap so I do the following:

I fold 1 single section into a triangle and tear off the tip.
Then I open it up and stick my finger through this hole.
The surrounding tissue wipes around my bum hole while my finger is free to get the nether regions.
Finally I use the the tip of TP that I tore off earlier (in step 1) to wipe under my fingernail.

I guess I have to vote "other"

Depends on where I am.

AT HOME

I buy the nice, cushoned, 2-ply stuff so that I can fold. Thus insuring the fact that there will be no hand/poo contact.

AWAY FROM HOME

I crumple. If you fold crappy, 1-play TP it is like wiping with a sheet of loose-leaf. You got to fold to add some cushion.

What I want is a bade(sp?) and instructions on how to use. I am sure it is not just "turn on water". I mean seriously, do they wipe first?, does it get really clean?, can you pee while using one?, is there a dryer?. I need more info on a bade though.
