I concur. If there are no tabs, I would really like the top image to go back to the front page.

Tabs BLOW. Drop-down menus that expand on mouse-over kick ass. Tabs take up WAY too much room and I frankly don't give a crap if I have to have another click to go from any forum to the video section of Anandtech.com or something. I like the very SMALL banner at the top, but it needs to link to AnandTech.com, not the forums. Anybody can click on the "FORUMS" link right freaking here to reload the main forums page. Why do we need to links on the same page (especially since they're all of, like, a half inch away from each other) to do the same thing?

I can't decide. Why not make it an option that each user can change, with only non-registered people seeing whichever wins the poll?
I think if I had to pick, it'd be the tabs and link to the homepage with the banner (which looks very nice BTW) above it.

Well, seems to me that there's a heck of a lot of space in the header to the right of the "Anandtech Forums" text that's empty and could fit in the tabs and would not take away any additional space from the actual forums.
And yeah, change link from forums.anandtech.com to www.anandtech.com. There's really nothing to gain having the forum link - and if anyone does find a need, they've still got the "Home" tab to click on.

I like how it is now with the small banner as it leaves more viewable space for the forums. However I hate how it does not link to the home page.

The question is about the tabs. We were originally without the tabs. They were added, but people complained. They were recently removed and others complained. It seems to be clear that everyone wants a link back to the AT main page.
BTW, I think Sunbird was unaware that the thread is stickied. Thus, he was simply trying to bump it to the top.

Ummm, well originally I did read it and I voted, and I thought I remembered what it said; however, I'm clearly stupid . . . I think I'll now join Sunbird in self-ownage.
Done, you can choose between tabs or not tabs on the far right. Both link to home page of site.

I love how you can click minimize to the right to get rid of the tabs, however, the link was virtually invisible to me until someone pointed it out.
