Do you have the dock icons set to bounce or have you disabled bouncing?

Personally, I have not disabled bouncing. I like being notified that some background app needs attention.

That leads to my...

Side question:

Is there a way to make all/any dock icons bounce continually until the program is brought to the front?

I like the bounce. I also side-dock cuz that is where it is at.

I think that Onyx will do the constant bounce setting. All the settings you find in a thing like Onyx, or Secrets or anything actually exist deep in the system, it is just a matter of finding them. Usually in the .plist files associated with each app.

In this case, if you were to peruse com.apple.dock.plist, you actually wouldn't find what you were looking for (probably) nothingin there really screamed 'how many bounces does it take to get to the center of a tootsie... nevermind'

So, yea, check out Onyx.

I have mine on the side too. I like having more vertical space than horizontal.

I am not familiar with Onyx. I will look at it, though, unlike my old Windows machines, I am trying to limit the "modifications" to the OS on my Macs (I am OK with playing with preferences. I just do not want to download a bunch of crap).

Onyx is pretty neat from what I used it to do, just some settings and things you can adjust. I for one always keep my icons bouncing like you said, helps me notice when one needs to do something.

How do you do that, with Onyx?
