I don't have anything right now but am looking into SageTV because it doesn't seem to make sense to me to pay someone a fee so I can use my VCR....

If I missed a major option in the poll, let me know and I'll add it....

Missing ReplayTV
Replace SageTV with HTPC (which uses MythTV, SageTV or BeyondTV)

I voted Tivo although there is a monthly fee, it rocks.

DirecTIVO is the BEST though.

I voted "other" b/c I have DirecTiVo which is a DVR through my sat provider, but it's also TiVo.

And it's freaking awesome.

Other, I use a RCA DRS-7000N. 40GB HD, free programming guide, and a DVD player. It was about $120. I really like it.

I have had Directtivo and am now on a vanilla series 2 tivo. Can't wait for the new software update. It os taking 4ever! :/

Directtivo for now. I want a DVR that will do HDTV though, and Directv is kicking tivo to the curb.

Currently have ReplayTV but am considering a dual tuner HTPC. BTW, IMO (and my wife's) ReplayTV is better than Tivo stand alone (though of course not better than DirecTivo). Higher quality recording, built-in networking, access to the box (to pull down shows and such) with DVArchive, commerical skipping, no modding required.

Tivo... I'm thinking of hooking up my computer with a tv tuner to act as a secondary dvr, though, for when I need to record 2-3 shows at the same time.

So it looks like good old Tivo is winning so far. It looks great but I just can bring my self to pay a monthly fee for something that I purchase outright and use in my own home. Seems like a big scam. heh.

I have a DVR through Dishnetwork. BUT the darn thing had a criticle disk failure Sunday night! im still waiting on a "next day" replacment from them. BAH!! i also lost all my shows i had saved up. that is really what makes me mad.
