As security expert Richard Clark said appearing on Bill Maher friday night, we could go back in and be there 1000 years and in 1000 years this would happen all over again.
He also stated that as bad as Saddam Hussein was, Saddam Hussein kept things fairly stable. And if the US were to go back into Iraq we'd be fighting side by side with the very forces we fought against in the first place.Or as GW called them, the forces of evil.
Yep. We'd be fighting hand in hand with the forces of evil against this new enemy.

This is a civil war. We have no business being there.
Not the first time nor this time.
And think about it....
If the press wasn't giving this so much panic mode attention as if this were the end of the world, we'd hear nothing and care nothing about this.

We have a lot of hot spots in the world. Thousands.
If the press jacked up any one of those "other" world aggressions in progress, we'd think that was the end of the world.
Eventually the press will get bored and refocus on Eric Cantor.
His loss was suppose to be the end of the world too.

I say to everyone that wants us back in Iraq, just put on your heave gear and grab your assault weapon from your closet then follow John Mccain into the war.
We'll be watching you on CNN.
Don't think about it, just Do IT!!!
I'll even pay your taxi fare to the airport.

This poll is hilarious because half of you thought it was brilliant in 2003.

I guess people do learn some things. The US has about as much of a stomach for a ground war in iraq as it does another vietnam.

At least Vietnam is kinda pretty.

I don't think you understand the difference between fulfilling an existing objective, and starting an entirely new one.

No, he does. It was bullshit then just as the suggestion of it is now. We wasted thousands of lives and billions (if not trillions) of dollars on a country that had nothing to do with 911 and there's no reason to spend another damn dime on that shit hole.

Yeah 11 years later, learning that the reasons for going in were a lie, that how easy and quick it would be were lies, and seeing that we had no exit plan. I sure hope people would change their minds. It is nice to see that most have

But really this is only the beginning of the situation in Iraq, we should wait to see what will happen over the next few years. But really the government we helped put in there is terrible.

Any claim is easy to make with the gift of hindsight.

Except they knew that from the start, which was why they had to make up more lies about Iraq having WMD to get us to go in.

I really suggest you look up this stuff and see what was known at the time vs what we were told. You seem to just be going by what the media told you when we were planning to go into Iraq.

LOL. You're still drinking the kool-aid. Hope it hasn't stained your brain....oops..."tool" late.

The Kool-Aid of future knowledge making it easy to see the invalidity of past decisions made? Or are you referring to the Kool-Aid you are drinking, which apparently causes people to grossly misunderstand statements they read to make meritless, wanton attacks against others that are grossly incorrect and in no way supported by the statements that were made?

Please, point out the part of my post that supports your baseless claims that I believe with the knowledge known now that the decision to start a war was correct.

Or is your point that once you destabilize a region as a result of an erroneous entry into a country, you should leave it destabilized?

I'd say it's more of a bit sad, as we should never been there in the first place, thanks Cheney and company.

Fuck the middle east. If you want to help them, suit up and take a private plane there and do your best. Leave the fucking place for the buzzards.

So, you've realized your false attribution and believe the latter of the two.

I believe it is irresponsible for us to wrongly invade third world countries, dismantle their government, then leave them without any form of stability at all. I don't think you really understand the consequences of doing so.

At this point, I don't fucking care, got it? Do I need to spell it out to you again?

We need to stay the fuck out of the entire region. If you want to suit up and go fight privately, go for it.

Don't go putting words in my mouth. You can believe what ever dumb shit that you want to believe.

I'm not putting words in your mouth. You are the one that made the statements. You are the one that has been putting words in my mouth, not the other way around. My username is not "Engineer." I don't really know how this post in any way shows that I've been putting words in your mouth since you're reiterating what you've directly confirmed your stance to be.

That's coming straight from you, yet again, not from some fiction I've decided to write in a baseless accusation.

You just appear to be trying to argue for the sake of it at this point.

When we were getting ready to go to war in Iraq do you think that US intelligence thought that Iraq was majorly responsible for 9/11, or that they thought that Iraq had WMD?

If he would stop making obviously false claims for absolutely no known reason, there would be no reason for me to say anything. Not my fault he is stating things, then re-stating the exact same things while simultaneously claiming I am making up the things he is explicitly stating.

Yes. Time to add another stupid chickenhawk to the ignore list.

Poll now 100 to 6, LOL.

Yeah, I find that it's easy to figure out who to put on the ignore list and makes things much easier. If they can't have a reasonable and rational discussion then it's time for ignore list.

I wonder if Colin Powell could have changed history if he had simply resigned, citing differences with the administration. You know, before the Iraq war. Would that resignation have sent shockwaves through DC?
