Poll: Thugs or Police?

Scenario: It's 1AM on a muggy summer night. You are walking up a lonely street, except for some traffic, which prevents you from walking in the middle of the two sides.

On one side if the street, there are 3 Police officers coming down, looking pretty solemn and stiff. They seem pretty peeved about having to walk around at such an hour in the heat.

On the other side, there are 3 thugs, acting up a storm but keeping within themselves for the most part

Which side do you take? Do you take your chances with the Police? Or do you feel safer going up the streets with the thugs?

Me? Personally I would take my chances with the thugs, because if they decided to kick my ass, the Police would be right there to do their job and save me. It's their job.

The thugs won't be able to save me from the Police -- they'd only get shot along with me, so I think that would be a really bad choice. 🙁

Well, you can really split them up into two groups. One will beat/rob you of what you happen to be carrying that particular day. The other will rob you of your future goods/services. Pick your poison...
