Ok I want to buy a 9600 Pro....my question is should I stick with original ATI or save ~10-20 dollars and go with a 3rd party 9600pro...like athlon micro....saphire....

And anyone know what's a ATI tier one?

When going Sapphire, only buy Fireblade. It has good OC potential and very good (2.8ns?) memory.

99.9% of the Windows 98SE/XP users here have DirectX 9.0/9.1 installed. MAYBE 3% of the folks here have a DirectX 9 hardware-compliant video card.

No. You could of gotten it from Best Buy at clearance for $150 but it is almost impossible to find one in Best Buy now since it was sold out the first couple of days and they don't restock them anymore because they replaced them with newer 9600 Pro.

Look at ebay for around $130-$150 shipped.

Yea a 9500 with the L-Shape ram on a RED PCB is the one to get, as you can soft mod it to a 9700 pro MAYBE
