If you buy a regular SUV=terrible handling and fuel mileage. Buy a cute-ute and you lose man card points anyway.

And: It's not a station wagon, it's a 5-door! Get with it.

Yeah they're cool. Hipsters, "active lifestyle" people, intellectuals, etc, are associated with wagons. If you have a sporty wagon, car enthusiasts will respect you, even if some dumbass driving a Suburban won't.
IMO, a sedan is a waste of an engine, transmission, suspension, wheels, chassis, and interior. I don't know why some people hold on to this "uncool" BS.

I drive around a lot in my family's Subaru Legacy wagon. I see no issues with it other than the fact it needs a turbo, horsepower x 2, and lighter parts. 165hp in a 3500lb car is :(

The wagon version of a sedan is almost always the same length, perhaps a little longer. The weight, etc, are almost the same, but you get a LOT more room. Can 2-3 people sleep in a sedan?

QFT, there are a lot of hot wagons out now.

One has to be honest with their car needs, a single parent of 4 is not going to be effective with a miata as an only car and someone commuting 2 hours each way a day would be an idiot to buy an Excursion to just take themselves back and forth (assuming the vehicle was only used at work for the commute).

The Magnum or whatever it is called is a decent looking wagon and not extremely expensive.

However; I have never heard of a family putting down a car purchase as uncool. Unpractical yes.

Hatchbacks are "cool". Most wagons are not "cool".

I'd prefer a hatchback personally, but wagons have their uses. However, if you're worried about looking cool, you probably shouldn't get a wagon.

Wagons rock. :D My first car was a 1979 Datsun 210 wagon, and I could fit a ton of stuff into it. My current Elantra hatch is an excellent car, but I still wouldn't mind having a bit more space. I don't give a damn about looking "cool", I'll buy whatever fits my needs. :p

Don't think there was an e39 M5 wagon, but I could be wrong.

for a while in the 90's they became deeply uncool and they stopped making them all together for many models... like camry wagons..accord wagons etc. now its back to neutral or so
