Poll: Speaker Layout

I hate the extra wiring in a surround sound multi-satellite speaker setup--makes the wire clutter behind my desk even worse. Now I'm thinking of ditching my current speakers for a 2.1 setup. Worse thing is: all the satellites are in front of me, so what's the point of 4.1, 5.1, 6.1, 7.1, etc.

i have 6.1 and its arranged like its supposed to be

2 in front with teh Center speaker in teh senter, sub in a corner
to rear speakers middle of room
rear center

my diagram doesnt frmat right 🙁

4.1 on the comp, i like good sound also

I have 4.1 arranged optimally for my computer, and 5.1 arranged optimally for my entertainment center.

I love good sound. 🙂

That's way too l337 for me 😕

5.0 (no sub) set up through my HT amp and placed properly around the wega in the living room right by me. Totally off center for my PC, but it's good for music. For games I just plug in the headphones.

Get motivated and hook up your sound like nothing youve ever hooked up before

it was hooked up before but then i rearranged the room so the bed is too close to my back now

7.1 for HT
3.1 for the sitting room
2.0 for the master bedroom
2.0 for the guestroom
2.1 for the computer
