For senior year next year in high school, i'm considering taking a second language, along with chinese. I've already taken two years of spanish and i could continue that, though i had a year of no spanish this year. my other choice that interests me is German. I've become really interested in german stuff lately, probably because my school is based on the oldest city in Germany. Which one is harder? which one to choose?

edit: added autos

If you live in the USA, take spanish. Most Germans speak english, anyway. Heidi Klum speaks english...so, what are you trying to do? 🙂

I can't say anything about Spanish, but I had a semester of German at our community college. It wasn't very hard... I didn't study that much but if you put some effort into it you would do well I would think (I still got an A). It was also the guy's first time teaching the class so he didn't have a definate plan and we worked more slowly through the material.

If I were you I'd continue on with the Spanish since you already started it but it's up to you! 🙂

German chicks are hot.....

but continue with spanish. It will someday be as common as english here. 🙁

But German sounds so cool! You'll always sound like youre about to kill someone!

IST MEIN NEIN STACKENBLOCKEN!!

yeah but Spanish chicks are hot to and they are all over, dont meet to many Germans here.

Spanish = romance language = get chicks

German = engineering, cars, chemicals, etc.

I chose the second option in high school to help me with my career. Now I work for the German government.

(While I do prefer German woman, I've never seen so many hot chicks as I did in both Stockholm and Barcelona.)

You know enough Spanish, IMO. At this point, the only thing stopping you from being fluent is practice and vocabulary. Once you know the grammar, you're well on your way.

So now switch to German.

Do you ever want to work for BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, VW, Audi, ZF, Bilstein, or Bosch, etc.?

Then, yes!

take Spanish. its more useful in America. and I reckon Spanish should be easier

however, let's break it down
1) Chicks: hot latinos, plenty. hot german chick other the Bimmerchick? Spanish Wins!
2) Cars: need I say more? German Wins!
3) Beer: I don't think octubre-festivo sounds right. German Wins!
4) Soccer: Two words: Real Madrid. Spanish Wins!

so I think its a tie 🙂

German women are billions of times hotter than Spanish women, but that's a matter of preference. Oh, and Germany have won the World Cup three times, Spain has never won it. Germany wins.

that and latina chicks are hot as in hot tempered, so Germany wins.

i have taken 3 years spanish, all As in each and every semester of it and yet i cant remember a single word or phrase...
come to think of it, that must have been one of the worst academic decisions i have made in high school. if i could go back its going to be japanese for me 😀

Spanish Women includes the one in Carribean, Central America, Latin America, and last year's Miss Universe 🙂

anyway, I completely forgot about Germany's history in World Cup 🙁 but hey, ask anyone to name a soccer club in Europe and 7/10 it will be Real Madrid, the other 3 will be spreaded among Man U, Arsenal, and MAYBE Bayer Munich. 🙂

I think that you can learn Spanish alone, by yourself
but you need a teacher at school to learn German

But French is both romantic and difficult ! 🙂

we neighbor mexico... and most words are cognates... u can pick it up easily

learn german... english is a germanic language... it'll help you improve your english grammar as well

right
but Germain is a long run choice, because only a couple of years is not enough, and these years will become useless.
so choose it only if you are very motivated and sure to use it.
Because Spanish looks funnier and easier to practise.
