I am a composer and use Midiman DIO 2448 PCI card with coaxial/optical I/O and analog out. I use a Midiman Flying Calf 24 bit AD to go into Cool Edit redocding software and use Nero 5 for my burning software with a Ricoh MP7040 CDR burner.
I had no problems until loading Windows Media Player. It immediately took over all my wav files place the WMP icon in front of all my WAV files and would only allow anything but 16 bit playback of those files, even if the were left in 24 bit/48 khz format.
With the help of Midiman I was able to remove WMP totally and tried reinstalling the DIO 2448. but I still can't playback files in anything but 16 bit. IRQ conflicts?
There is now a white Windows icon in front of all of the files with the top right corner folded over. I now have my novel which was opend with WordPad now in my Cool Edit folder. How this happened I don't know.
Now, Syntrillium and MidiMan's tech support are at a loss as to how to fix this. Any help is appreciated.
