No. I just added in information to preempt the questions about why there is a soda machine located "remotely" with no visible source of power.

That is what I thought.

So, you did not know that many vending machines charge $1 (or more) for sodas already.

Well, I typically see ~1 dollar for a can so that is what I based this on. If I could make a huge poll I would have included several different prices as well.

What is the most you would pay for a soda from a vending machine in remote areas typically not serviced by vending machines?

$0.25 or less
$0.50 or less
$0.75 or less
$1.00 or less
$1.25 or less
$1.50 or less
More than $1.50 (state how much in post)
I would never buy a soda from a vending machine


Or something like that?

this is a question of convenience vs cost comparison, not about what energy is used. no one cares that it is solar powered and those that do still will use the convenience vs cost method to evaluate it. the $1 price is within range of what many people would consider worth the cost for the convenience.
