I have posted some days ago a topic entitled 'Which 19" Monitor?' and I have been given some interesting infos. But for many reasons I'm forced to discard AG (and Trinitron) monitors.
Now what? I'm looking for Hitachi and new LG FT monitors, but I have a question: as regards Hitachi monitors, are they really that sharp? See this pages

As you can see the very difference between a Hitachi monitor and a traditional CRT is in the horizontal dot pitch which is 0.22, undoubtly exceptional, but as regards the diagonal or vertical dot pitch we have standard values, or less. So I'm wondering if the image quality of a Hitachi monitor is so sharp as they claim.
I have always known that there's confusion about dot pitch...what do we have to look for? Horizontal, diagonal or vertical?
And what about shadow mask technology? Does it really work better than Aperture Grille? Or not?
And in conclusion: what about the new LG 995 FT monitor and Flatron Tube technology? Is it worth the Shadow Mask and Aperture Grille?
Thank you all guys for helping me in these hard days.
Best regards,
