Poll: SMC Cable Modem Networking Help

I just recently bought the SMC 4 port router to share my cable modem connection. I connected the first computer(Win 98 AMD 650) and it works fine. I tried to connect the second computer(Win 98SE Celeron 400, Netgear FA 310TX) and it won't talk to the router. The cable is good because I used it on the first computer and I can connect. None of the lights come on when I try to connect the second computer. The NIC card's lights doesn't come on. The port's light on the router doesn't come on. I hooked it up straight to the cable modem and the lights come on but I haven't been able to get it to work, yet.

I've mirrored the settings on the cards.
I've re-installed the NIC card.
I've re-installed Windows.
I've deleted the NIC card.
I've tried all 4 ports on the router.
I've cloned the MAC address.

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
