Ok...

Here is the what i need...

I want to backup all icq data:
  • mainly contacts and addresses and email setup... and so on...

you all know how that is...

BTW I was using one old prog. for backing up... but this doesn't work with icq2000...

Does anyone have the ICQ99 version?

If so, would you try sent it through icq or to email it to

ManuTOmanU

I appreciate and hope to get this old version...:D

Just zip up your current icq folder & move the zip file to a different drive.

Then you can format C: , and after your done extract the zip file to the original location & reinstall ICQ over top.

OR if you just want your contacts Download this file and use the adress book to export all your contacts.

After you install this program goto My ICQ , then message archive, then my adress book, after right click & export your adress book.

BTW,where's the poll? ;)

Thank you...

well the problem is that I had to reformat... (I bought an 128MB stick of RAM for my parents SYS and this thing screwed it up... :|:|:|... somehow I lost this file MRCI2.VXD and couldn't get nowhere...)

Well anyway, now i am sitting here and am trying to get those contacts back on my list...

I had this program that a friend gave me and I thought that it would work on ICQ 2000 whatever... but it doesn't... I have no idea why... but now I would need the ICQ 99 version to get ICQ running again...

So now what about that poll... I have no idea why the he.. it doesn't work,,,

All you do, is you chek the field talking about the poll and then I don't know... but maybe you have a hint for me... or I might find it somewhere in the forum...

So sorry.. but this is certainly not my day today...

SOrrY...

maybe I find somebody that has the old version of ICQ... Thanx anyway...

There is a database folder that is call db** (* = Variable). For both ICQ99s it is db99. Just zip that up, and put it in a safe place.

yeah Zorba has that right, that folder (in your case db99b) has all your contacts info etc, so all you do is reformat, install windows, and ICQ, then tell ICQ that you are an existing user..

shut down ICQ.

you then place those files into the folder that they came from for the original (no special conversions needed, if you are using the same version of ICQ as when you saved that directory).

start up ICQ.

I usually just backup the whole 2000b folder and then overwrite the new 2000b folder after reinstalling.
