Poll: Sibling JEALOUSY

This thread got me to thinking: Do your parents lavish more material goods on your younger siblings than they did on you? M SO and myself have one sibling each, and we are >10 years older than the siblings. We were provided for adequately by our parents, but were not spoiled. Our parents, however, have showered $$$ on our much younger siblings. For example, my brother had every game console from Nintendo to Playstation2--he even had the POS Turbografx! Now my parents want to get him a brand new Honda. The disparity for my SO and her sibling is even worse. I don't think my SO holds it against her sibling or parents--she's never said anything about the issue. In defence of our parents, they are better off financially now than when we were growing up.

What struck me though is that I never felt any jealousy or other negative feelings towards my brother. In fact, I myself have given him some nice stuff over the years. I just wish my parents did not spoil him because I know he does not have any money sense, does not practice frugality. What about you? Do your younger siblings get more than you did? Are you jealous?

With more than 10 years difference in age, don't you think your parents would just simply be in a better financial situation to give more to your younger siblings? Just a thought. . .

I was lucky. My older brother and I were only a couple of years apart and didn't mind sharing stuff.

I'm the older one of us two and I think we get treated equally. It may be possibly because I have less wants as I grow up past a certain age. Like I now really only ask from them for stuff like a bike from Trek every few years, a computer upgrade every 2 years, etc. If I want something small like a basketball or something they just get it even if it costs $20.

I think that as long as I'm not asking for stuff everyday, they're fine with it.

Thats similar to my brother, he doesn't ask for stuff all the time and so when he wants something and my parents think its decent, they'll get it. But they have to be a little more strict on what they buy him because hes 10 years old and they can make pretty long lists for christmas...

I was the only girl in the family and my brother was the only boy, so we both got treated very equally and very well, just in different ways.
Now there are a few more boys but i am still the only girl...we all are treated the same!
there are some perks of being female!

I was only 4 years apart from my brother and my mom has told me that over the years they have been careful to give us things equally, and I think they did a good job of it.

What about the "My younger sibling gets more stuff. I'm not cool with it, but not jealous." choice?

My younger sister is a spoiled little bitch. At least it helps that her life is going to hell.

What about us younger siblings feeling the same way about our older siblings?

Make your own poll, pipsqueak. :p

(What are you saying? That some older siblings are MORE spoiled than younger ones? I suppose that can happen, but far less often?)
